Identification of Property Boundaries Using an IFC-Based Cadastral Database

Property boundaries have a significant importance in cadaster as they define the legal extent of ownership rights. Among 3D data models, Industry Foundation Class (IFC) provides potential capabilities for modelling property environment. In some jurisdictions, such Victoria, Australia, are assigned to faces building elements which modelled solids IFC. order retrieve these boundaries, boundary identification analysis should be performed, and extracted. However, extracting from an IFC file is not possible considered separate object-type. Therefore, this paper aims develop spatial query approach using operators database address problem. The viability developed tested IFC-based cadastral with two real datasets one test dataset. proposed methodology only supports vertical walls horizontal roofs but can also used detecting properties surrounded by complex structures oblique curved roofs.
